The Chairman did not have a report.  She asked everyone to introduce themselves.

Old Business

2018 Executive Program Update
Ms. Weist reported that the results of the survey about changing the traditional Executive Program schedule indicate that the most popular schedule is Wednesday to Friday (rather than Thursday to Saturday.)  Mr. Haislip commented that changing the dates still may not solve the problem of people leaving early.  Since members have long expressed an interest in holding the Executive Program in Williamsburg, Ms. Weist will investigate venues, prices and availability.

2016 Spring Institute Update
Ms. Weist reported that over 500 people have registered so far for Spring Institute and she anticipates that attendance will be upwards of 700 people.  The Norfolk Waterside Marriott room block is full, but the Sheraton is continuing to give us additional rooms, as needed.   Ms. Weist reviewed the agenda highlights, including 3 hours of Ethics. Two case management vendors will be in attendance.

CATF Update
Ms. Chambers circulated the most recent balance sheet and reviewed the numbers.

New Business

2018 Spring Institute Dates
Ms. Chambers announced that because of hotel availability issues, the 2018 Spring Institute will be held from April 15 – 18, 2018.  She inquired if anyone had a problem with permanently moving the Spring Institute to mid-April, as opposed to late March.  Members agreed that this would be a good change.

Staff Attorney Vacancy
Ms. Chambers announced that Ms. Weist will be leaving CASC to pursue her interest in prosecution.  She will be joining the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office in Essex County.  Ms. Chambers thanked Ms. Weist for her outstanding service to CASC and wished her the very best.  Ms. Weist received a very warm round of applause.  Ms. Chambers announced that Ms. Weist’s position has been advertised and interviews will be held on February 25.

Adjournment
There being no further business before Council, the meeting adjourned at 11:15 a.m.  The next regularly scheduled meeting is April 3, 2016, 1:00 p.m., at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott Hotel in Norfolk, Virginia.
