Fury Road: Investigating and Prosecuting Impaired Fatal Crashes
June 23, 2025 - June 25, 2025
The Fury Road Program is an intensive two-day training for Virginia prosecutors and law enforcement officers, scheduled to take place in Staunton from June 23 to 25, 2025. It will cover crash scene evidence collection, crash reconstruction, charging decisions, dealing with legal defenses, case scenarios, victim outreach, and more! Participants will receive the latest version of the Virginia DUI Manual.
This training follows a team-based format, ideally requiring a team consisting of a prosecutor and a law enforcement officer from the same jurisdiction. It’s designed for law enforcement officers who are either Virginia State Troopers handling impaired driving cases or a local law enforcement officer who is on a crash response team or regularly involved in investigating fatal motor vehicle crashes. Attendance at all sessions of the program is mandatory.
Registration does not guarantee acceptance into the program. Confirmation of selection will be sent by email by May 1, 2025.
Lodging and meals will be provided for participants whose office is more than twenty-five (25) miles from the training venue, and lunch will be provided for commuting attendees. Please note that no mileage reimbursement will be offered.
