Advanced DUI Training for Law Enforcement and Prosecutors – Williamsburg
March 3, 2025 - March 6, 2025
The Advanced DUI Training Program is an intensive course designed specifically for Virginia prosecutors and law enforcement officers and will be held in Williamsburg on March 3 – 6, 2025. The program will cover a range of critical topics, including investigative stops, Standard Field Sobriety Tests (SFST) and Preliminary Breath Testing (PBT), breath and blood testing issues, DUI checkpoints, and the use of transcripts and legal code sections to prove elements in court. Additionally, the program will address key issues in manslaughter cases and provide opportunities to analyze factual scenarios. Participants will receive the latest edition of the Virginia DUI Manual.
This training follows a team-based format, ideally requiring a team consisting of one prosecutor and one law enforcement officer from the same jurisdiction. However, individuals may still enroll if they are unable to form a team, though preference will be given to teams. The program is limited to 50 attendees—40 with lodging accommodations and 10 commuting attendees. Lodging and meals will be provided for participants who reside more than 25 miles from the training site, and lunch will be provided for commuting attendees. Please note that no mileage reimbursement will be offered.
Registration does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
Confirmation of selection will be sent by email by January 15, 2025.
